Cielo y nubes tomadas en Calama, Segunda Región de Chile.
Este es un día cualquiera de verano, en el que grandes masas de nubes se mueven constantemente, desde el altiplano, hacia el sur y la costa.
En la mayoría de los días no se quedan lo suficiente como para permitir lluvia en Calama, solo breves llovizmas, pero si permiten aberturas y formas en atardeceres de muchos colores y tonos.
Estas fotografías fueron tomadas con una Nikon D3100 y Nikkor 55-300mm VR, post-proceso en Lightroom v3.6.

De vuelta en el norte (como seguro habrán notado ya), han sido días de trabajo no relacionado a la fotografía o las imágenes. De hecho, quizás, totalmente lo opuesto.
Sin embargo, en tiempos de ocio, que también son muchos, el hogar siempre ofrece algo que observar. Ya sean los ocres, ya sea el cielo o simples estructuras o lugares, siempre hay algo que descubrir.
Sea en el momento de fotografiar o en el post-proceso, cuando tranquilamente puedes pensar, crear y sobretodo, mover indicadores de un lado hacia el otro, hasta lograr la imagen que estabas buscando.
Desde curvas de luz invertidas y totalmente dispersas, hasta el blanco y negro que cada vez me gusta más.

Back in north-country (as sureley you’ve noticed already), have been days of non-related photography work. In fact, has been quite the opposite (hello Excel).
But, in times of leisure, which are also many, my home always offers something to watch (or catch). Whether the ochres, or the clean blue sky above or simple structures or places to be discovered.
Either at the time of taking the actual picture or in post-process (when you can calmly think, create and, above all, move indicators from one side to the other) give yourself time, until you get the image you are looking for.
From inverted and fully dispersed light curves to black and white, which I like more everyday.

Cinco fotos de una rutina que tomé hace poco: el fino arte de hacer mal café.
Utilizando una simple cafetera, se agrega café molido y en este caso un poco de té verde también.
La verdad el café quedó pesimo, pero el color siempre es atractivo a la vista, con tonos que van desde el rojo al amarillo y un intenso negro al centro.
Por esto es que también utilicé una simple herramienta de Photoshop, que es el manejo de layers o capas, las cuales me permitieron en primer lugar separar y luego hacer una desaturación selectiva de los elementos fuera del café, como la cafetera, taza y el mesón. Aunque estos ya eran de tonos grises, al desaturarlos permiten realzar más aún los tonos del café.

Five photos of a routine that I took recently: the fine art of making bad coffee.
Using a simple coffee maker, add coffee grounds and, in this case, also some green tea. To be honest, the coffee tasted awful, but the color is always pleasing to the eye, with shades ranging from red to yellow and and intense black in the center.
That is why I also used a simple Photoshop tool, which is the management of layers, which allowed me to separate some stuff and then do a selective desaturation of the elements outside the cafe, as the kettle and the inn. Although these were already gray, the desaturation allowed further enhancement of the coffee tones.

Fotografias marcha de culminación de los dos dias de paro convocados por la CUT (Central Unitaria de Trabajadores) que contó con una masiva convocatoria, especialmente por parte de los estudiantes chilenos.

This is a series of photos taken on August 25th at the march to conmemorate the end of the two day national strike called by the “CUT” (Central Unitaria de Trabajadores) a multi-sindical organization.
Although the total numbers of participants vary depending on the estimates of the CUT (600.000 nation wide), government and police (175.000) , it was for sure a massive concurrence backed up by the Student Movement (who have been protesting for more than 3 months now) and various civil organizations.
Even though most of the march was held in a pacific way, which culminated in a cultural act, some masked rioters showed up with intentions of provoking the police, damaging public and private property and, in some cases, even attacking the pacific protesters that were trying to restrain them.
